There’s something magical about the soft morning light when Positano is still half-asleep. I met them just as the sun began to stretch over the cliffs—an American couple celebrating nearly twenty years of marriage, with a tradition that immediately touched my heart: wherever they travel, they create a small visual keepsake to hold onto life’s most fragile, unforgettable moments. What was supposed to be a short photo session quickly turned into something far more meaningful.
We started at their hotel, Hotel Marincanto, with the pastel houses of Positano glowing behind us. They are the kind of people who make you forget you’re working—open, beautiful, incredibly sincere. We wandered through the quiet streets before the crowds arrived, laughing between clicks. I brought along a few of my favorite styling pieces, including a lemon-print scarf that felt perfectly at home with the Amalfi Coast’s vibrant spirit. They had two outfit changes, and their second look—bold, joyful—seemed to dance against the coastline views.
We were so immersed in the moment that we completely lost track of time. A mini photoshoot turned into a journey just outside Positano, to a panoramic viewpoint where the horizon stretched endlessly and the atmosphere felt almost cinematic. They’re in their early forties, and they told me with such warmth how proud they are of this chapter—young at heart, truly alive. It was an honor to witness that energy.
Afterward, this wonderfully creative couple surprised me with a gift I still get emotional remembering: a beautifully edited video backstage of our time together, showing my work from their perspective. I cried happy tears. As a photographer, receiving such a heartfelt gesture reminded me why I love capturing stories like theirs—not staged, not rushed, just real.
