Black Friday at River Mall during the challenging COVID-19 era was a vibrant and imaginative event, standing out for its creative theme and the joy it brought to visitors. Male promoters, dressed in elegant suits with horse-head masks, and female promoters in stylish, sophisticated outfits transformed the shopping center into a dynamic stage for unique interactions. These costumed characters became instant favorites, posing for photos with shoppers at thematic photo zones and across the mall’s galleries.
Capturing the energy and excitement of this day was a rewarding challenge. This photo shoot involved documenting every vibrant detail, from the beautifully designed photo zones to candid moments throughout the mall. As an event photographer, I ensured that the atmosphere of celebration and creativity was reflected in every shot, helping to tell the story of this remarkable promotion.
Shoppers who made purchases exceeding a set amount had the opportunity to register their receipts for a prize draw. The gifts ranged from luxury perfumes and gift certificates to jewelry, household appliances, and coveted Apple products. The grand prize draw, a major highlight, was held both offline in the bustling food court and online, allowing more people to join in on the excitement.
My photography played a key role in achieving the goals of the event. Beyond capturing moments for the organizer’s report, I encouraged attendees to engage with the themed photo zones, ensuring everyone had the chance to create a special memory. Visitors could later download their photos from the shopping center’s website, preserving their experience in a lasting way.
This type of event photography is something I’ve come to love, as it combines storytelling with real-time interaction. Collaborating regularly with River Mall and other shopping centers on similar projects has been a highlight of my work, allowing me to bring creativity and joy to large-scale events like this one.
