Some love stories feel like they belong in a movie—this was one of them. As an engagement photographer, I had the honor of capturing a heartfelt surprise proposal for a wonderful couple from Canada.
The groom-to-be had been planning this moment for months. He booked a photo shoot, telling his girlfriend it was just a romantic session to capture their trip to Italy. But behind the scenes, he shared his secret with me—he was going to propose! My role was more than just a photographer—I helped choose the perfect location, a secluded spot away from the crowds, where the magic could unfold in privacy.
On the day of the proposal photo shoot, rain added an unexpected charm to the atmosphere. The cozy courtyard of a stunning hotel, usually filled with tourists, was completely empty. With a fountain, lush greenery, and beautiful architecture surrounding them, the moment was intimate and perfect.
As he knelt down, presenting a delicate bouquet we had carefully prepared, his fiancée’s emotions overflowed—joy, surprise, and pure love. And, of course, she said YES!
After capturing this unforgettable moment, we continued our photo shoot through the charming streets of Positano, strolling along the beach, soaking in the romance of this magical town.
For the final part of the session, we added a vintage touch—an iconic 1969 Alfa Romeo Spider. With the breathtaking Amalfi Coast as a backdrop, this part of the photography session felt like a scene from an old Italian film—elegant, timeless, and filled with love. The combination of the classic car, coastal roads, and golden-hour light created some of the most stunning shots of the day.
